Is it really golden?

The silence is deafening and it makes me crazy.

I pester and pester. Wondering what is wrong.

Because as an extrovert, surely, if it's this quiet there's a problem.

That's how I operate. If I'm quiet, you've got an issue.

So when I'm confronted with silence I start to panic.
  • What's wrong?
  • Are you ok?
  • Is there something I need to do?
  • Did I do something?
  • What's wrong?
Then I get angry and quiet because now there is a problem.

I've been left alone in the silence to stew and stir.

Blink and you'll miss it...

It's not that I was dreading 2017.

I've had better years than 2016 - and I've had much worse. So the tolling of the bell at midnight was not an emotional thing.

I celebrated.

Quietly.

Some years have been celebrated loudly, others I've slept through.

This year I missed the ball dropping. I was awake and looking forward to watching it drop. Getting my New Years kiss. My alarm was set so I could tune in and then I kind of got lost along the way.

All of a sudden it was 12:02 am and I missed it.

It's probably an indicator of what the coming year will hold for me.

What else am I going to just be a day late and a dollar short on?
