Snuffleupagus...

My head is bumbly and my chest is rumbly.

I have a cold.

No matter how much hand washing and people-avoidance I tried, the creeping crud caught me anyway.

My one nostril is completely clogged and the other whistles when I inhale.

Attractive, I know.

I would think it was funny – if only it were someone else.

The reflection in the mirror shows I’m paler than normal with glassy eyes. For some reason my hair wants to appear like I stuck my finger in an electrical outlet. An all-day “just woke up” look appears to be on the horizon.

Isn't that look supposed to be sexy? I'm not sure I'm pulling it off correctly.

I cough and sneeze as quietly as I can so as to not disturb my co-workers. I’ve become a closet nose-blower.

However quiet I think I might be, I’m probably not. I can’t tell anymore. My ears are clogged.

I sip my tea and will the cough back into my lungs - which makes me go "prumph" and turn bright red.

I sound as contagious as I feel.

Fortunately it’s the weekend, and the weather outside will be frightful.

The fire inside will be delightful.

And, I will have nowhere else to go.

So I’ll blow my nose, blow my nose, blow my nose.
